PLAN COMMISSION MEETING, May 10, 2023
The regular meeting of the Town Plan Commission for the Town of St. Croix Falls was called to order by Chairman Mike Dorsey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Town Hall. Proper notice was given as the public hearing notice was published in the April 26, 2023, and May 3, 2023, editions of the Inter County Leader and the agenda was posted at the town hall and on the town’s website May 4, 2023. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Present by roll call were Chairman Mike Dorsey, members Jeremy Appel, Dave Berg, Rick Katzmark and Kevin Rector. Absent were Stacy Bergmann, Gus Koecher and Kyle Yunker. Also present were town clerk Janet Krueger, zoning administrator Ben Campbell and legal counsel Adam Jarchow. Others present were Loren and Tracy Dusek, Kaitlynn Peper, Kris Hartung and Karen Mickelson.
Katzmark/Rector moved to approve the agenda; motion carried. Berg/Katzmark moved to approve the April 12, 2023, meeting minutes; motion carried.
No public comment was had.
Public Hearing – Special Exception to operate a professional office for women’s health in a nonconforming structure at 2048 US Highway 8.
The public hearing opened at 6:04 p.m. The applicants provided information on their services. The public hearing closed at 6:07 p.m.
Rector/Berg moved to recommend town board approval to operate a professional office for women’s health with two of three conditions presented striking the termination condition for sale or transfer of ownership of either the parcel of land or the business itself; motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote, 5-0.
Public Hearing – Special Exception to operate a coffee shop/restaurant and gift shop in a nonconforming structure at 1984 US Highway 8.
The public hearing opened at 6:09 p.m. The applicants presented their request and stated that at this time the business will only be a drive-thru coffee shop. The public hearing closed at 6:12 p. m.
Berg/Katzmark moved to recommend town board approval of the coffee shop/restaurant and gift shop with the conditions presented in a nonconforming structure; motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote, 5-0.
No closing public comment was had.
The next plan commission meeting is scheduled for June 14, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business, Katzmark/Appel moved to adjourn the meeting; motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
